Fundraising

Did you know that our local volunteer Special Olympics Community Council is responsible for providing the facilities and equipment for our athletes’ sports activities.  The Council also provides transportation, uniforms, equipment, overnight trip accommodation, and hosts an Annual Awards Banquet.  We do our best to try to keep costs affordable for our athletes by hosting several fundraisers throughout the year.

During the upcoming holiday season, we are planning for a Cheer for a Year Gift Card raffle to raise funds to support our local activities.  Would you be interested in including a gift card or gift certificate to add to this raffle package. 

We are planning to collect gift cards for a Gift Card Raffle to be drawn mid-December.  Ideally, we'll be ready to start selling tickets in mid-September.  Our goal is to have a years’ worth (52) of gift cards at a value of $50 each from a variety of businesses including Tim Hortons, LCBO, grocery stores, florists, gift shops, department stores, etc. bringing the value of our package to $2,600.  We plan to sell tickets at $10 each with a limit of 1,000 tickets printed.
